LONDON (AP) – Former England striker Callum Wilson finished his five-year stint at Newcastle when he signed Premier League rival West Ham on Saturday.
Wilson, 33, who wrote a one-year deal for West Ham, was a free agent after failing to agree to a new deal in Newcastle.
Wilson spent six seasons at Bournemouth before joining Newcastle in September 2020.
He states: “I look forward to being part of a large football club like West Ham. A club like me that shares passion, hard work and dedication… I’m happy to be part of it.”
Wilson has scored 49 goals in 130 appearances in all Newcastle competitions. He also scored twice in nine England matches between 2018 and 2023.
“He is a proven and experienced Premier League striker with a great work ethic and a great goalscoring record,” said West Ham manager Graham Potter. “He also has a great personality and personality. This is a very important factor and he places a great emphasis on recruiting players.”
West Ham will begin its Premier League season on August 16th at Promotion Sunderland.
