Barcelona and PSG have reached an agreement for Doro’s transfer to the French club. Both clubs have been negotiating the midfielder’s departure for several days and now an agreement has been reached for the French club to pay Barcelona 8.5 million euros. The player is expected to join PSG immediately after a few days of voluntary training. The contract has not yet been signed or officially announced.
Ten days ago, the player’s agent, Ivan de la Peña, informed the club that the player wanted to leave after paying the €6 million release clause in his contract. This news came as a blow to the Spanish club, which had not expected this move of Doro. Throughout the season, manager Hansi Flick had integrated the player, who made his debut last September, into the first-team dynamic.
The coach was the one most angry about the player’s decision. From that moment, he removed him from the first team and the rest of the club, so Doro had to train alone from Friday the 16th, when he announced his departure.
Since then, both clubs have been negotiating a transfer for the player rather than fulfilling his release clause. Both sides would benefit as Barcelona would receive more than $6 million in player freedom and PSG would have less money to pay as they would no longer have to pay a large amount of tax. After several discussions, the two clubs reached a final agreement.
