Former England forward Emile Heskey says Jadon Sancho, currently on loan at Aston Villa, has no hope at parent club Manchester United and should return to Dortmund if he wants to get back to his best.
Jadon Sancho has been asked to return to Borussia Dortmund to revive his career.
Sancho has become one of the forgotten figures in modern football. The England international left Manchester United last season to join Chelsea on loan, but the move did not become permanent. He joined Aston Villa on loan in the summer transfer window, but has yet to feature in a game. Then, in the game against Manchester City last weekend, he was sent off as a substitute in the first half, and suffered the ultimate humiliation when he was sent off again after the break.
Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan from United in 2024, helping the German national team reach the Champions League final and successfully returning to Dortmund. And Emile Heskey believes Sancho should consider doing it again if he wants to get his career back on track.

Sancho’s contract with United expires in June and he will leave Old Trafford on a free transfer. The former England international and Liverpool striker told 10bet: “Jadon has a great relationship with Dortmund in the Bundesliga so that’s a possible path for him to go.”
“When he went back there on loan, he was in the Champions League final. So it’s possible and you would think he could always go back there, especially on a free transfer.”
Sancho has also been linked with a number of clubs in Italy, but Heskey warned Sancho that his attitude must be right if he chooses to go to Serie A.
He added: “I think Italy might work out well for him, but the only thing he needs to do is make sure his mindset is right and he’s ready to work hard.”
“I’m not kidding. It might be a rude awakening for him in Serie A. That might be what he needs to knuckle down and get back to his best.”
