Wolves were reduced to 10 men at Craven Cottage on Saturday after Emmanuel Agbadu’s red card and lost 3-0 in what Pereira described as “one of the worst performances” of his tenure.
Pereira took over last December when Wolves were second from bottom in the table and guided them to safety.
The 57-year-old recently signed a three-year contract extension despite a poor start to the season.
Wolves have drawn twice against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion, but have lost their last three league games.
They have conceded 22 goals, the most of any club, but they have found the back of the net just seven times in 10 games, which remains tied for worst.
Pereira faced chants of “sacked in the morning” following the defeat to Fulham, but vowed to keep fighting.
“I’m disappointed today. I’m not proud of my work or our work, because I don’t know why,” he told Wolves TV.
“Mentally, I don’t know if it’s because I put a lot of energy into the last game against Chelsea until the last moment.
“We have tried everything. In the last game against Chelsea we started with a 4-3-3, but in the 4-3-3 we realized that we were not defending at our level and we were not playing at our level. We changed the system and were able to play in the second half.”
“In my opinion, the second half was very good. We started today where we finished the last game and the dynamic was not there.
“Maybe it’s because we played three games in a short amount of time, but we changed some players from the last game.”
Goalkeeper Sam Johnston was similarly disappointed with Wolves’ performance against the Cottage, saying: “Frustrated. Embarrassing.”
“This is not good enough and we need to do better. We should be ashamed and of course we apologize to the fans, although they may not want to hear it.”
“We are trying our best but we have to keep moving forward. We have good players and we need to turn things around quickly.”
Wolves next face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with games against Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Arsenal also scheduled.
