Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United face Nottingham Forest this weekend, with new Midlands side manager Sean Dyche criticizing the Red Devils manager.
Sean Dyche believes Ruben Amorim may have heeded his warning to finally find a way to win at Manchester United. The Red Devils will face Dyche’s Nottingham Forest this weekend looking for a third straight win.
Another win at the City Ground could move United into the top four of the Premier League. This position is remarkable given their disastrous start to the season and previous crises. The turnaround follows comments made by Dyche earlier this year in which he claimed he could “win more” at Old Trafford by getting back to basics.
Amorim was aware of this, but seemed preoccupied with his own more complex philosophy. But ahead of this weekend’s clash between the two sides, Dyche suggested the United manager had indeed followed his advice.
Forest manager Dyche said at his pre-match press conference: “I never doubted him as a person and I never would. Clickbait kills anything.”
“My suggestion is that the fundamentals could have worked better, and they’ve changed their style, so fair play to him. They’re playing faster, longer and forward, getting back into their shape a little harder. That’s management, that’s coaching.”

Commenting on the Red Devils’ remarkable turnaround, Dyche added: “They seem to be starting to turn things around, but we have to prevent that. There are subtle changes in their play and they are putting in a winning performance. They are putting in a winning performance.”
“We have to be aware of that, but likewise, if you look at our performance against Porto, it was a performance that you would think would beat a lot of teams.
“Especially here at the City Ground, they always have a good voice, but on paper they’re up against big names. I think we can get that energy between thinking on the front foot from the stands. The players will buzz with it.”

United are finding their form again, but the same cannot yet be said for Forest. They have lost each of their last four Premier League games, losing 2-0 at Bournemouth last weekend and are 18th in the table with five points.
However, there have been some bright spots under Dysch, with the former Everton and Burnley manager scoring a 2-0 win against Portuguese giants Porto in the Europa League in his first game as manager.
After facing United, Forest return to European action next week when they travel to Sturm Graz, before facing newly promoted Leeds United in their next league game.
