Arsenal attacking midfielders Ethan Nwaneri and Fabio Vieira have completed their loan spells with Marseille and Hamburger SV respectively.
Marseille are expected to face a financial penalty due to lack of playing time for Ethan Nwaneri, who is on loan from Arsenal.
As part of the first loan deal between the clubs in January, OM promised to pay a base loan fee worth £1.3m, plus an undisclosed bonus centered on Nwaneri’s playing time.
The finer details remain confidential, but it is understood that the more Nwaneri plays, the less Marseille will end up paying, and his wages will be covered.
The 19-year-old has logged 1,710 minutes in just 412 minutes across all competitions and was an unused substitute in five of OM’s last six Ligue 1 games.
He is due to return to Arsenal this summer, but his long-term future at the club remains in doubt.

After replacing Roberto De Zerbi as manager, Marseille head coach Habib Bayet publicly questioned the way England Under-21s were used in training.
Arteta declared earlier this month that he hoped Nwaneri would “learn” from his demoralizing ordeal at the Stade Velodrome.
Meanwhile, Bundesliga side Hamburger SV will not activate their £19.16m (€22m) option to sign Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira.
After a rocky start in Germany, the 25-year-old played a key role in the club’s survival, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in the Bundesliga.
On Saturday, the final day of the season, he scored a fantastic goal in a 1-1 draw away to Bayer Leverkusen.
After the match, Vieira refused to say whether he would return to Hamburg next season.
The attacking midfielder, who joined the Gunners from FC Porto in the summer of 2022 in a deal worth up to £35.2m, will enter the final year of his contract with Arsenal this summer.
Premier League bosses are keen to let him go as he is not part of Mikel Arteta’s ambitious plans.
HSV are willing to pay less than 10 million euros (approximately 870 million yen) for Vieira’s permanent transfer, which is significantly lower than the price of HSV’s buyout option, which was hastily negotiated between the clubs on the day the transfer was declined in September.
Arsenal expect Vieira to attract interest from other countries following his high-profile season, and discussions about the player’s future will not take place until after the Champions League final.
Vieira also plans to discuss his options with his agent, saying on Saturday: “I have to be open to everything. Let’s see what happens.”
Asked if he could imagine staying at Hamburg, he added: “I can’t say yet. Whatever the future holds, I was very happy here and will be forever grateful to HSV. The club has done everything for me and the support has been amazing. I feel the love of the fans and the club. They all love me.”
