TThe 2026 FIFA World Cup Miami Host Committee has officially launched ONE GAME ONE FUTURE, a county-wide legacy initiative aimed at creating long-term youth development and community impact through soccer. The program debuted at District 12’s North Trail Park on March 7, marking the beginning of a series of community-driven activities leading up to the world tournament.
Activities included a coach education workshop from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and a youth soccer clinic from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Both sessions focused on using soccer as a platform to develop young athletes while providing local coaches with tools to teach leadership, teamwork and life skills.

“ONE GAME ONE FUTURE reflects our commitment to building a meaningful and lasting legacy across Miami-Dade County,” said Jennifer Roche, Director of Community and Legacy for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee. “Through coach education, youth engagement and integrated community resources, we use soccer as a platform to empower families, strengthen communities and create opportunities for the next generation.”
Developing youth through soccer
The March 7th activity will be the first in a series of community-based clinics across Miami-Dade County as part of the ONE GAME ONE FUTURE initiative.
The event began with a 90-minute coach education workshop aimed at providing local coaches and recreation leaders with the tools to utilize soccer as a vehicle for mentorship, inclusion, and life skills development. Young participants then attended free soccer clinics focused on skill building, teamwork, and positive coaching, expanding their access to structured play opportunities within their communities.

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Juan Carlos “JC” Bermudez, who represents District 12, joined Miami Host Committee leaders to emphasize the importance of neighborhood-level programs as the city prepares to host games during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“This effort reflects our shared commitment to enhancing opportunity at the neighborhood level,” Bermudez said. “By combining sports, education and medical resources, we are investing in families today while preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will command global attention.”
The event was held in collaboration with Ftbol Con Corazn, a non-profit organization focused on youth development through sports.
“Access to play and coach leadership are more important than ever,” said Daniel Dubuc-Wightman, executive director of FCC USA. “Through soccer, we create a space for children to experience a sense of belonging, guidance and joy. Those experiences help shape young people into healthy, active and productive members of their communities.”
Integrating health and wellness
The clinic also includes a mobile medical unit operated by Banyan Community Health, which provides free testing for youth and families. Services include depression screening, BMI measurements, blood sugar testing, and additional wellness resources.
By integrating health services directly into youth sports programs, this initiative strengthens long-term community health efforts alongside sports development.
Community partnerships make an impact
ONE GAME ONE FUTURE is designed to be inclusive and accessible, supporting youth, families, coaches, and community leaders across Miami-Dade County. The program will continue to expand through additional community clinics and partnerships in the months leading up to the tournament.
A lasting legacy for Miami
This initiative serves as the foundation of the Miami Host Committee’s legacy strategy for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is built around three core pillars:
Access to Soccer Sustainability Community Impact
Through investments in youth clinics, coach education, wellness services and safe play spaces, the program aims to ensure the benefits of hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup extend beyond the tournament itself.
Additional announcements related to ONE GAME ONE FUTURE and other legacy initiatives are expected to be announced in the coming months as Miami continues to prepare to welcome the world in 2026.
