The end of the Premier League season is fast approaching, with just three weeks of games remaining. There will be plenty of drama at either end of the table, given that there is still work to be done in the title race, the battle to stay in Europe and the battle for relegation all.
Arsenal are leading the table, with Manchester City in hot pursuit, but only 12 points separate them from 5th and 12th. Bottom-of-the-table Tottenham will start the weekend in the relegation zone once again, but ahead of the crucial Premier League fixture, Express Sport has detailed all the latest injury news.
This will be a huge boost to Arsenal’s title challenge. Bukayo Saka returned from injury last week and made another cameo appearance as a substitute against Atletico Madrid in midweek. He is unlikely to be fit enough to start against Fulham, but that doesn’t mean he won’t play a role.
Julian Timber, who is clinging to the league lead, is still sidelined midway through the game. Arsenal have used Ben White in the Dutchman’s absence, but it is hoped he could return before the end of the Gunners’ season.
Liverpool fans must have been heartbroken when Mohamed Salah hobbled off injured during last weekend’s game against Crystal Palace. The Egyptian is set to leave at the end of the season and there are fears he may have already played his last game for the club. Liverpool have admitted they hope Salah will be back in time for the final game of the season, but Sunday’s trip to Old Trafford may be too soon.
Speaking of which, Matheus Cunha, who missed Monday night’s win over Brentford, could also be absent for the hosts. The Brazilian, along with Michael Carrick, suffered a hip injury. We’ll be nervously waiting to see if he’ll play on Sunday.
There is still no sign of Chelsea’s captain. Reece James appeared to have overcome the injury problems that had plagued his career so far, but his last appearance came in mid-March in a league game against Newcastle. Recently sacked manager Liam Rosenior said he is “a bit further along” than some of Chelsea’s players who have recently returned from injury. The Blues face Nottingham Forest on Monday’s Bank Holiday and will no doubt be well served by the dynamic right-back’s quick return.
