Coventry manager Frank Lampard has attracted the attention of Crystal Palace, who are eyeing their next manager after Oliver Glasner leaves Selhurst Park at the end of the season.
Crystal Palace’s manager shortlist includes Frank Lampard and up to six names to replace Oliver Glasner.
The Eagles have known for months that the Austrian would leave at the end of the season and Lampard’s stellar form at Coventry, where he led them to the Championship title, has kept him in the slot. It seems unlikely that he will leave following promotion, but the south Londoners remain interested.
Lampard has previously played for Chelsea and Everton in the Premier League and is no doubt relishing another chance to prove himself at the highest level.
It would be a shock if he were to leave Coventry, although he would be required to pay around £5m in compensation if he were to leave. The Independent reports that Fulham are also monitoring Lampard’s movements as Marco Silva’s contract expires in a few weeks.
The attractiveness of Palace’s job will depend on their success in the European Conference League. A win in this competition would qualify them for next season’s Europa League, giving them even more room to invest in their team given the European revenue.

Kieran McKenna is another Championship manager who could become a top-flight manager next season if Ipswich secure promotion, and he is also on the radar of Palace. McKenna has been with the Tractor Boys for four full terms and will no doubt improve from his experience last season, when Ipswich were relegated, but his fee package stands at £8m.
Manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed he is leaving Bournemouth after three successful years, but is considering other options, one of which is Chelsea, who are also looking for a permanent manager. He previously had his eye on the Selhurst Park hierarchy.
Glasner is aiming for new heights at Palace, helping them win the FA Cup last season and backing that up with the Community Shield victory over Liverpool. But he has become increasingly vocal about the club’s lack of investment behind this success.
Eberechi Eze was sold to Arsenal in the summer and Glasner has made no secret of his desire to retain Marc Gehi, who is in talks with Liverpool. The club held on until he was sold to Manchester City in January, and Glasner announced he would leave at the end of the season.
