TThe Oronto FC goalkeeper saved his team with a header in stoppage time in a midweek MLS game that featured back-to-back goals, including goals from Inter Miami’s Rodrigo de Paul and Luis Suarez, and Cincinnati’s American League all-time leading scorer, Brazilian Evander.

It was a night to remember for Toronto FC goalie Luka Gavran. He was the team’s hero, scoring a header in the 96th minute to tie the game against the Philadelphia Union at 3-3.

Toronto made it 3-2 with Nathan Harriel’s goal in the 89th minute, but in the sixth minute of stoppage time, already five minutes past the referee’s call, Gavran accompanied the Canadians for the final play and capitalized on Spaniard Alonso Coello’s cross to salvage a point in the most unexpected of ways.

Toronto extends its MLS unbeaten run to seven games and is in playoff contention in the Eastern Conference.

Goal Festival held at Yankee Stadium in New York

There was no goalie score at New York’s Yankee Stadium, but there was another thrilling finish. Cincinnati tied the match at 4-4 with two goals in stoppage time from Andrei Chirilla and Brazilian Evander.

A brace from Argentina’s Nicolas Fernandez Mercau and a goal from Agustín Ojeda gave New York City a 3-1 lead in the 53rd minute, and Tarell Magno gave the home team a 4-2 lead in the 79th minute.

Just when it looked like the game was over, Cincinnati pulled off the surprise of Evander, who became the top Brazilian scorer in MLS history with 44 goals.

New York City FC’s neighbors, the New York Red Bulls, drew with DC United at home on the same scoreline as Israel’s Ty Balibo scored a hat trick.

The Red Bulls took the lead three times, including two goals from Mexico’s Jorge Rubalcaba, but were unable to take all three points.

He scored five more goals in Orlando, as Orlando City beat Charlotte 4-1 thanks to the Argentinian rhythm of Martin Ojeda and Ignacio Gomez.

Ojeda scored twice with the opening goal from 19-year-old Brazilian Luis Otavio. Gomez, born in 2006, scored the winning goal in the 87th minute to make it 4-1, giving Orlando all three points for the first time since March 14.

This was the second win of the season for Florida, which is competing for a postseason spot in the East.

Great goals and 3 points from De Paul and Suarez

Rodrigo de Paul and Luis Suarez scored twice in the 82nd and 83rd minutes, applying the Inter Miami formula to a 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake.

Inter Miami struggled in the visit to a cold Salt Lake City, but thanks to the champion’s brilliance they resolved a complicated match.

De Paul broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute with a superb right-footed curl from 20 yards, and seconds later substitute Suarez made it 2-0 with a superb left-footed volley after a one-two with Mexico’s German Bertelame.

The Argentine celebrated his second goal of the season, his first in eight games, as Suarez made good use of his playing time in a season without a starting XI.

Uruguayan Luis Suarez has scored 33 goals and provided 21 assists in his MLS career.
