TOn Sunday, April 19, Al Nasr’s captain scored another goal and celebrated twice. Not only did that goal move him closer to 1,000 goals, but he also helped his team beat Al Wasl 4-0 in the quarter-finals of AFC Champions League 2.

But securing a place in the semi-finals wasn’t the only thing Cristiano Ronaldo did during the match. He also made sure to respond to the cheers of support for Lionel Messi from the stands.

Cristiano responded to Messi’s chants

The 41-year-old Portuguese star opened the scoring 11 minutes into the game with a precise cross from Bouchard, taking his career goal tally to 970. Igo Marnes (24th minute), Abdulela Al-Amri (26th minute) and Sadio Mann (80th minute) added the remaining goals for Al Nasr.

However, he was the central figure in an incident that quickly went viral. During the match, fans began shouting the classic “Messi, Messi” chant at historic rival Lionel Messi, trying to provoke him and force him out of the match.

Far from ignoring them, the Portuguese star responded with a defiant gesture. He first put his finger to his lips, asking for silence, then motioned to calm down, clearly signaling to them to remain calm.

The match unfolded in a heated atmosphere, with Ronaldo fully immersed in the game and standing out as one of the key players. The forward played 67 minutes, had 24 touches and took three shots before being replaced by Abdullah Alhamdan.

However, his goal not only proved that he still remains important and decisive, continuing his scoring streak, but also reignited the rivalry between him and Leo.

Meanwhile, Al Nasr will play Al Ahly at home on Wednesday the 29th in their next match in the Saudi Pro League, where they will face off for the top spot. Al Ahly are currently in third place, while Al Nasr are looking to consolidate their lead.
