Nico Paz breaks his silence on Inter rumors and his return to Real Madrid

Nico Paz, 21, is one of the players most likely to return to Real Madrid this summer. The midfielder left the club for Como in 2024, but Los Blancos can now buy him back for €9 million. His name has been on the list, but his focus is currently on Italy.

In an interview with Sports Media Set, Nico spoke about the possibility of a return to Real Madrid and revealed his current thoughts. “I don’t want to think about that. Here in Como, I’m 100% focused. I want to give everything on the pitch. Then in the future, if I get a chance, I’ll see,” said the young Argentina international.

He also reflected on the goal he scored in the white shirt against Napoli at the Bernabéu in the Champions League. “It was pure happiness. I was a boy. I remember my second game against the first team. To score in the Champions League against a team like Napoli, against the monsters we played in Madrid, in a stadium like the Bernabéu… When I scored, everyone was screaming and chanting my name. It was an unbelievable feeling,” he confessed.

There was no doubt about the pass, but there was also a connection with Inter. “No, there was nothing,” the midfielder explained, also reflecting on his evolution since arriving in Como. “I think I’ve grown in all aspects. I came here from Real Madrid Castilla but never played in the first team. Last season was my first time in Serie A, but now I feel more mature and ready to play at this level. It’s a good league and I’m thinking about improving every day to keep growing.”

Fubregas’ jumping weight

The Argentine praised the season Como is having. “We’re having a good season. To be honest, we didn’t expect it to be this good, but the great work we’ve done is paying off and I think we deserve it,” he said, pausing to see coach Cesc Fabregas. “Fàbregas was the most important factor. He has a lot of faith in us. He is a young coach who lives for football, works hard, studies a lot and allows me to play the way I want. That’s the basics.”

Paz also recalled his debut for Argentina in October 2024 against Bolivia, where he ended the match with an assist for Messi. “It was a dream. I didn’t realize it and I only realized it after the match. It’s very special for me because I was able to give Messi an assist and my father was also watching the match at the stadium. Leo told me to work hard and be humble. I’m going to steal his left foot…” he said, opening another window with the same naturalness. “I’ve been dreaming of the World Cup ever since I was a kid, watching the games on TV. It’s unbelievable for me. I’m working every day to get there.”
