Zinedine Zidane returned to the Santiago Bernab on Champions League night, a far cry from his glory days when he last managed Real Madrid. Los Blancos lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals, but Zidane was there again soaking up the atmosphere at the Bernabé.
The French coach has once again been in the spotlight following reports that he will be taking the job with the French national team. The game gave him a front row seat to several players who could soon be under his wing.

Zidane was caught on camera in the stands as rumors about him becoming the France national team coach increased. Real Madrid’s French players Kylian Mbapp, Aurien Choamuni and Eduardo Camavinga also featured, while Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano and Michael Olise featured.
Zidane has been a free agent since leaving Real Madrid in December 2021, a surprising reality given his elite form. During his second stint, he won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup, taking his total to 11 trophies with the club.
The French legend enjoyed a special night at the Bernabeu, but it ended on a bitter note as Real Madrid fell short. All eyes now turn to the second leg, where Kylian Mbapp’s decisive goal will keep their Champions League hopes alive.
