Jude Bellingham talks all about his shoulder injury through his YouTube channel and even shared a video of his surgery this week. The Real Madrid player ultimately had to undergo surgery at the end of last season, but he expressed regret for not stopping for the surgery and continuing to play despite the pain.
The England midfielder arrived at Real Madrid with an injured left shoulder, having been injured at Borussia. “In my last season with Dortmund, I was first told that I had to have an operation on my shoulder after a bad fall. I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t do it because it was August-September and the World Cup was in December. Then I started to feel better. When I arrived in Madrid, there was no pain,” he recalled.
Unfortunately, he injured the same spot again against Rayo Vallecano. Since then, he has been playing with this physical problem at Real Madrid. “It all started on the day of the game against Rajo. It was the most painful sensation I had ever experienced up until that moment. I had never felt pain like this. It seemed like it took forever for them to get back into position, but it was only 90 seconds from the time they entered the field until they got back to their original position. Previously, when they were removed, they could put themselves back into their original position,” he said.
“Everyone said I would have to have surgery, but it was my first year at Real Madrid and I didn’t want to let the team down and be out for three months. The shoulder injury affected other parts of my body a lot. I didn’t feel much pain, but playing knowing that if I fell I might dislocate it again means I won’t be able to perform at my best,” he said.
“After losing the European Championship final against Spain, I didn’t want it to be my last game for three months, but that was the perfect time to have the surgery. I decided to go on for another year, but I shouldn’t have done it,” she admitted. “Last year made me realize that I can’t take it for granted that I can win again. Now that I’m feeling better, I can get back to my normal level,” she said.
