active tribute
Traditionally, tributes look to the past. They are made out of nostalgia. From memory. But this comes from the present. From what’s happening now. What Inter Miami fans feel every time Leo steps on the field. Recognizing someone doesn’t necessarily mean closing a chapter. Sometimes it’s important to understand that fans are witnessing something unique.Messi first arrived in South Florida in the summer of 2023, and an era of success for the club began. As captain, he helped lead the team to Inter Miami CF’s first historic four titles: the 2023 League Cup, 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield, 2025 Eastern Conference title, and 2025 MLS Cup. On an individual level, Messi has continued to set standards since joining MLS, winning the 2025 MLS Golden Boot presented by Audi for his 29 goals and 48 point contributions (29 goals, 19 assists), and was named MLS MVP (Landon Donovan) in 2024 and 2025, becoming the first player in league history to achieve this in consecutive seasons.
He has played in 94 games and has scored 83 goals and provided 53 assists, establishing him as Inter Miami’s all-time leading scorer and assist provider.
46 titles
The 38-year-old Rosario-born player is the most decorated player in soccer history, winning a total of 46 overall titles in his career. In addition to winning with Inter Miami, Messi has won four Champions Leagues, one Olympic gold medal, three FIFA Club World Cups, 10 La Liga titles, two Ligue 1 titles, seven Copa del Rey titles and one Champions Trophy. At international level, he led Argentina to the 2021 and 2024 Copa America titles, the 2022 Finalissima and, as a highlight, the 2022 FIFA World Cup title.
Individually, Messi has won the Ballon d’Or award a record eight times, the FIFA Best Men’s Player award three times, and the World Cup Golden Ball twice, making him the only player in history to do so twice.
