WIlian Pacho’s name continues to grow in weight among Europe’s football elite. After establishing himself as one of PSG’s defensive pillars, the Ecuadorian centre-back has once again been linked with Real Madrid, who are facing a defensive crisis following a spate of injuries to players such as Eder Militao and David Alaba.
As Pacho prepared for a FIFA date with Ecuador, a journalist approached him to ask about Real Madrid, and the player’s gesture went viral on social media.

William Pacho’s reaction when asked about a possible move to Real Madrid
Pacho was about to enter a hotel in Ecuador in Europe when El Chiringuito specifically asked him if he wanted to wear the white shirt, play in La Liga, or both.
Pacho chose prudence and reacted only with gestures and smiles, neither denying nor confirming anything, and his face said it all, which quickly went viral on social media.
He has always been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabéu, and strong interest was already expressed during the 2025 Club World Cup, but he is under contract until 2029 and would have to pay a hefty sum, making it seem almost impossible for him to leave France in the short term.
Pacho to his first World Cup
While the Paris and Madrid offices are making headlines, Willian Pacho continues to focus on his international efforts.
The centre-back will lead Ecuador’s defense in grueling warm-up games against Morocco and the Netherlands, but it will be a litmus test to measure his level against world-class strikers before resuming club action, and will be key to being in good shape heading into his first World Cup.
