Hugo Moshagen (20), a Swedish goalkeeper and forward from BK, was shot dead in a residential area west of Orebro, a city about 200 kilometers from Stockholm.
Authorities received a report of shots fired and upon arrival found the young goalie seriously injured.

The main hypothesis of the Swedish authorities is that the murder of Ugo Moshagen was a mistaken identity and that the killer’s real target was the person who accompanied him.
So far, no arrests have been made. Police are conducting routine investigations and collecting evidence at the scene.

Authorities have also ruled out the possibility of revenge or any links between the goalkeeper and gangs or criminal activity.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities conducting interviews, dog searches and analyzing large amounts of surveillance footage collected in the area.

Joachim Gunnarsson, Hugo’s father, told the Express: “His big dream was to become a professional footballer. He devoted all his time to it and this year will be his year.”
“It’s an immeasurable emptiness. One moment you feel angry and the next you feel sad because you lost one of your children in a completely unnecessary way, in a completely irrational way. He wanted to see everyone, talk to everyone and help in any way he could,” he said.
