Barcelona’s experienced forward Robert Lewandowski is entering a decisive stage in his career, with his contract with the Spanish club coming to an end at the end of this season. The Polish international continues to play an important role for Barcelona, showing both consistency and professionalism while competing at the highest level of European football.

Although speculation continues over his future, he remains an influential performer this season, scoring 11 goals in 23 La Liga appearances and providing two assists in domestic competitions.

According to a report by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lewandowski and his representatives are actively considering various options. These include the possibility of extending his stay at Barcelona through a short-term deal or exploring opportunities in other leagues.

His agent, Pini Zahavi, is said to be involved in talks with Barcelona’s leadership, including club president Joan Laporta, as both sides consider what the next steps should be.

Although negotiations continue, Lewandowski’s situation is attracting attention outside Spain. His experience, technical ability and proven goalscoring record make him an attractive option for clubs seeking an experienced striker who can contribute immediately while providing leadership to the dressing room.

This season for Barcelona, he also registered a goal and an assist in the UEFA Champions League and made an impact in European competitions, furthering his reputation as a reliable performer on the main stage.

Interest from multiple leagues emerges

In addition to consideration from Barcelona, there is also growing interest from clubs in Major League Soccer and the Saudi Professional League. Both leagues are increasingly active in recruiting established international stars, offering competitive environments and attractive project opportunities.

Lewandowski’s name naturally fits into this trend, as teams in these leagues often seek players who can increase both their performance level and global recognition.

Despite external interest, current Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is thought to be in favor of the striker staying. Flick praises Lewandowski’s movement, positioning and decision-making ability, qualities that will be useful even as the player ages.

Injuries and team rotations required careful management throughout the season, but Lewandowski’s overall contribution remains significant.

During his time at Barcelona, Lewandowski made 183 appearances, including 156 starts, amassing an impressive record of 117 goals and 21 assists.

These numbers highlight his consistency and importance since arriving at the club. At the beginning of negotiations, he reportedly indicated that he would accept a pay cut to extend his stay, suggesting there was some flexibility in negotiations.

As the season draws to a close, a final decision is expected to be made in the coming months, likely around April. With multiple possibilities emerging and interest from abroad increasing, Lewandowski faces an important choice. Should he stay at Barcelona and continue his legacy in European football, or start a new chapter in another league?
