TThe FIFA Council met today and approved the budget for 2027-2030. The FIFA President emphasized the power of football and this summer’s World Cup as tools to build bridges and promote peace. Meanwhile, he expressed confidence that the schedule would remain as set despite the possibility of Iran playing in Mexico, and called on all participating teams to maintain mutual respect.
“FIFA cannot resolve geopolitical conflicts, but in our hearts for those suffering from the effects of current wars, we are committed to using the power of football and the FIFA World Cup to build bridges and promote peace,” the president said.

“FIFA expects all teams participating in the FIFA World Cup to compete in a spirit of fair play and mutual respect. We have a schedule. The 48 participating teams will be confirmed soon and we hope that the FIFA World Cup will be held as scheduled,” he added.
After the Council meeting, a record revenue budget from 2027 to 2030 is projected to be $14 billion, and investment in FIFA Forward is scheduled to reach $2.7 billion, eight times more than before 2016.

Meanwhile, FIFA reported that following the proposal submitted by the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) at the 74th FIFA General Assembly and the subsequent decision of the FIFA Executive Board instructing the FIFA Disciplinary Committee to investigate allegations of discrimination violations brought forward by the PFA, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has determined that the Israel Football Association (IFA) has committed numerous breaches of its obligations as a member of FIFA.
As a result, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee imposed the following sanctions on IFA for violating Articles 13 (Aggressive Conduct and Breach of Fair Play Principles) and 15 (Discrimination and Racist Acts) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC). The IFA is subject to a fine of CHF 150,000, subject to the provisions set out below. The IFA has been warned for its actions.
IFA was ordered to implement a prevention plan in accordance with the following guidelines: IFA has been ordered to display a prominent and clearly visible banner with the slogan “Football unites the world – against discrimination” next to the IFA emblem at the next three matches played by top national teams at home in FIFA competitions. IFA will submit the size and design of the banner and its location within the stadium to FIFA for approval at least 15 days prior to each match.
