Another matchup that became a tradition was Brazil vs. Sweden, which also played seven times. With a record of five wins and two draws for the South American team, this rivalry culminated in a historic final in 1958, when the world discovered Pell.
But they’re not alone. Brazil are back in the spotlight with five games against Italy, and although they are not the only team with this figure, they did appear in the final in 1994 and 1970, with Canarinha winning both times.
Some matches have become a regular occurrence in the group stage. For example, Argentina vs. Nigeria was played five times, with Albiceleste completely dominating. A similar thing happened in Brazil vs Scotland.
