aAlmost two months after winning the African Cup of Nations, Senegal’s players on Tuesday night faced CAF’s decision to disqualify their team and award the title to Morocco. And they weren’t happy about it.
One of the first to react was Rayo Vallecano midfielder Pate Sis, who posted several photos on social media posing with his medal and African Cup of Nations title, along with a powerful message: “We can score three more goals for the crybabies.”
Sith is referring to the final score in which CAF gave Morocco 3-0 in the final, which the Senegalese midfielder scoffs at.
Senegal laughs at this decision
Sunderland’s Senegalese midfielder Habib Diarra also reacted to CAF’s decision by posting a photo of himself holding the trophy, accompanied by a number of laughing emojis. Diarra also posted a video of a party in his country celebrating Senegal’s title win, making it clear that the title is still theirs.
The official accounts of the Senegalese national team and the Senegalese federation also posted videos of the African Cup of Nations celebrations in the country’s streets, sending a clear message to CAF.
