FIFA has announced an agreement with YouTube as the preferred platform for this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. This initiative between both parties will provide official media partners with the opportunity to expand coverage of the contest through their platform.

“The multifaceted collaboration will enhance the promotion of the tournament through premium content on the respective official YouTube channels of FIFA and the audiovisual rights holders. Thanks to the collaboration with the audiovisual rights holders of the competition and various creators, the historic partnership between the two organizations will offer the public more options to enjoy the tournament,” FIFA said.

Therefore, rights holders will be able to publish extended highlights, unseen footage, short videos, and on-demand content on their YouTube channels to whet the appetite of YouTube users in order to expand their reach and global engagement.

“For the first time in the competition’s history, audiovisual rights holders will have the option to broadcast the first 10 minutes of each match live on their YouTube channel, allowing fans to enjoy all the excitement before the first whistle. Official media partners will also be able to broadcast some matches in full on the same channel in order to reach a global audience and promote the competition in a specific region. There will also be more opportunities to monetize content on the platform,” FIFA continued.

The collaboration will give fans a new way to follow the competition through premium content accessible on FIFA’s official YouTube channel.

“FIFA is pleased to welcome YouTube as the preferred platform for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This agreement will enable us to reach fans around the world like never before by promoting FIFA’s premium content and providing new opportunities for audiovisual rights holders and creators,” said Matthias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General.
