Neymar made a public appearance on Monday despite being recently dropped from Brazil’s national team by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The star forward attended Kings League matches and cheered on his team, while also addressing his absence from recent national team call-ups.
Neymar is currently the president of FURIA FC and was present at the club’s second round of the competition. The match attracted attention not only for the high number of goals scored, but also for Neymar’s brief appearance during the match.
During the match, FURIA faced DesimpaiN and it was a lively match with several goals. At one point, with the score at 5-3 in favor of Desimpay, Neymar came forward to take the penalty.
The Brazilian star calmly converted the attempt, reducing the gap to one point and eliciting a huge response from the crowd. However, although there was some temporary momentum, the efforts to turn things around ultimately fell short.
De Sympay regained control of the match and won 7-4, handing Neymar’s side a defeat in the second round.
Neymar talks about disrespect for Brazil national team
Beyond his exploits on the field, much of the attention surrounding Neymar has centered on his recent omission from the Brazilian national team. After the squad was announced, the Santos forward briefly shared his feelings about the decision.
“I’m obviously upset and sad that I wasn’t called up,” Neymar said during a live broadcast of a Kings League match. “But the focus remains. We will achieve our goals. The dream continues.”
The 34-year-old forward currently plays for Santos FC and is working to regain full fitness and form.
His return to Brazilian club football has caused great excitement, but his poor health has been a recurring theme in discussions about his role with the national team.
At the press conference following the announcement of the squad, manager Ancelotti answered a question regarding Neymar’s absence. The Italian coach explained that the decision was not a permanent ban from the national team, but was mainly related to the player’s physical condition.
Ancelotti said Neymar remains a player the coaching staff will keep an eye on as Brazil strengthens for future international competitions.
Importantly, the manager also revealed that the forward has not been ruled out for the FIFA World Cup. If Neymar can return to peak fitness and consistency, the door remains open for him to return to the team.
