Robert Lewandowski spoke openly about FC Barcelona’s true potential, especially regarding the team’s chances of winning the UEFA Champions League.
He mentioned the topic during an interview with Romulio on the Brazilian legend’s YouTube channel. The Polish striker has made it clear that lifting the Champions League trophy is one of the most difficult tasks in football and called for caution when analyzing the Barcelona team’s ambitions in European competitions.
Lewandowski warns of how complicated it is to win the Champions League
In a preview of the conversation, Robert Lewandowski claimed that in order to win the UEFA Champions League, they need to maintain a very high level throughout the European tournament.
“Winning the Champions League is of course not easy. Even if you think you are doing well and the team is doing well, there are still many games left,” explained the Barcelona forward, who is well aware of how long and difficult the road to the European title is.
For Lewandowski, his team must focus on getting through the Champions League finals before thinking about lifting trophies. A draw with Newcastle, for example, remains completely open and Rose will be looking to show his best version at the Camp Nou.
The Barcelona striker also clarified that there is little point in talking too early about winning the Champions League title, as competition in Europe can change very quickly.
“If we play in the semi-finals, I think we can talk about winning the Champions League, because before that it doesn’t make sense,” he asserted.
The Polish star also reminded fans that in European football it’s often the little things that make the difference and a club’s outlook can change quickly.
“A lot of things happen in soccer. A lot can change in one week,” he emphasized.
