TThe atmosphere in Barcelona is not the best, and off the field a new election is being prepared, with candidates throwing darts at each other and even Messi emerging as a central topic of discussion.
A few days ago, former manager Xavi said that Messi did not return to the club because of Laporta, and then the current president explained the truth of the matter, and among a number of other statements, this time another candidate, Victor Font, commented that it was good for Messi to tell the truth about the whole incident.
Victor Font asks Messi to clarify his intention to leave Barcelona
In the framework of the Nueva Economía Forum, Mr. Font spoke about the upcoming elections in Barcelona and put pressure on Messi to speak out about a possible return to Barcelona in 2023 and clarify everything that has been said so far.
I don’t think Messi will say anything between now and Sunday, but I hope he does. Let him explain the truth so MPs don’t get fooled into voting.
The candidates hope that the issue will be clarified before the elections, but it is very unlikely that Messi will throw himself into this conflict or reveal something that does not concern him, since everything will be left to the discretion of each fan.
Victor Font calls out to Barcelona fans
Font called for the discussion to focus on what really matters, explaining that fans should prioritize Barcelona over any other candidate.
“Rather than simply deciding between candidates, members will have to choose the Barça they want from Monday,” Font said.
Font also spoke about the club’s financial problems, explaining: “If we’re 2.5 billion euros in debt and we don’t make a profit, our ownership is at risk.”
