aAntoine Griezmann’s possible departure from Atletico Madrid has become the biggest concern for Diego Simeone and the Spanish club’s fans. The French striker is a legend at the club, but midway through the season he received a very good offer from MLS that left him with big doubts.
Griezmann earned his place in Atlético Madrid’s history, but his departure midway through the Copa del Rey and Champions League could anger fans, and it was Antoine’s former teammate who spoke out about a possible exit to MLS for the same reason.

Griezmann’s former teammate denies moving to MLS
Samuel Umtiti, Griezmann’s teammate on the French national team and 2018 World Cup winner, is currently a commentator on DAZN and has given his opinion on the Atletico Madrid striker’s possible move to MLS.
I can’t see him packing his bags and going to MLS right now, but I think that’s what he wants.
“As for the situation with Antoine Griezmann, I think he is comfortable in Madrid, where he is playing and is important,” explained the DAZN commentator. “I think it’s unlikely that he’ll pack up now and go to MLS because the team has survived in almost every competition, but that would be his desire.”
Umtiti added: “The timing is not right because he still has a lot to do this season at Atlético.”
Griezmann advances to final against Atletico Madrid
While Griezmann is analyzing his unique situation, the striker and Atlético Madrid are already considering a new finals encounter this week, when they will face Barcelona, who won 4-0 in the first leg, in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final.
Diego Simeone’s side are dreaming of reaching the final of the competition, and in order to do so they need to concentrate on heading to Camp Nou, where Barcelona are hoping for a miracle.
In addition to the Copa del Rey, Atlético Madrid are also considering the Champions League, where they have qualified for the last 16, and will face Tottenham for a place in the quarter-finals, so the schedule is extremely tight and Griezmann will have to make a decision quickly.
