TVinicius Junior was the main focus in the return leg of the Champions League play-off against Benfica, but he ended up scoring the goal that made a difference for Real Madrid and guaranteed them a place in the Champions League Round of 16.
The Brazilian footballer was subjected to racist insults by Gianluca Prestiani, who ignored then-manager Jos Mourinho’s request that he not celebrate his goal with ecstasy and did it again.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper appeared happy for his team-mate, telling Movistar Plus after Real Madrid’s 2-1 win that he hoped: “He keeps dancing, because that means he’s scoring goals.”
The Belgian also mentioned Prestianni’s absence, which forced Benfica to adjust their positioning, although they did manage to score goals.
“They didn’t play with the right wing because (Gianluca) Prestiani wasn’t playing. Richard Ross played in the middle and caused us problems with who to mark. And that’s where their first goal came from. We adjusted at half-time but struggled in the first half.”
He expressed his feelings about his next opponents in the round of 16 of the Champions League, speaking about Manchester City, whom he has played in the last four competitions, or Sporting Lisbon, whom he would like to play more.
“You already know that City are coming tomorrow or the day after (laughs). I hope we can change things. They are a tough opponent. They have a good record in the Portuguese league. We have played against City for many years and it feels like a dream lottery game, but I hope it doesn’t turn out that way.”
