TMajor League Soccer (MLS) could have a new world champion, proving once again that MLS is one of the preferred destinations for the world’s top soccer players. The potential signing could also reach the team, which has a fierce rivalry with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
Antoine Griezmann is rumored to be moving to MLS. The French forward’s contract runs until June 2027. However, several clubs around the world have already started checking the status of the Atltico de Madrid star.
Rumors suggest Griezmann’s various transfer destinations
There has been speculation in recent weeks that Griezmann could join Liga MX side Rayados de Monterrey, but the Mexican club’s board has denied such reports.
Now, The Athletic journalist Tom Bogart reports that the Frenchman has been named as one of Orlando City’s main targets in the MLS transfer window, with the club already initiating formal contact to finalize a deal.
The board of the team, which maintains a traditional rivalry with Inter Miami, is already in talks, with sporting director Ricardo Moreira reportedly making several trips to Spain to try to convince Antoine Griezmann to join Major League Soccer.
According to the report, Orlando City has not finalized the deal at this time and continues to consider other options on the market. If the move goes through, Griezmann would join other major stars such as Ricardo Kaku, who played for the club from 2015 to 2017, and Nani, the Portuguese winger who is remembered for his time at Manchester United.
