Cristiano Ronaldo continues to add to the fortune he made during his career as a soccer player, this time with a multi-million dollar investment of $7.5 million in Herbalife’s health technology platform.
Investments with immediate economic impact
The Portuguese star decided to put his money behind long-time sponsor Herbalife. The nutritional supplement company announced this during its earnings conference call Wednesday, and it immediately affected the company’s stock price as soon as the market opened.
The soccer player, considered the world’s highest-paid athlete, has acquired a 10% stake in HBL Pro2col Software LLC, a subsidiary of Herbalife specializing in health and nutrition software.
It is a platform that collects users’ health data and lifestyle analytics to generate personalized nutrition plans and wellness programs.
In a statement released by the company, Cristiano Ronaldo described this as a “natural evolution” and asserted that working with Herbalife “motivates me at this stage of my career.”
This sent Herbalife stock up more than 15% on Thursday morning, proving once again that Cristiano Ronaldo’s economic impact and global influence continues to attract significant media attention.
The Portuguese soccer player topped Forbes magazine’s 2025 list of highest-paid athletes, with a total income of $280 million, of which nearly $50 million in off-field income came from his CR7-branded businesses, which include hotels, gyms, watches, and more.
