Harry Kane, who recently robbed him of one of his achievements, is back in attack and could potentially strip him of his second record.
Kane moves closer to surpassing CR7 again
The Bayern Munich star recently scored his 500th career goal with two goals in a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen. What’s surprising is that it took him 743 games compared to Cristiano’s 753.
This means Kane could match the 41-year-old Portuguese star’s new feat from his time at Real Madrid. Cristiano is currently the fastest player at the club to reach 150 goals in just 149 games.
And although it seems impossible to equal this record, the 32-year-old has already scored 126 goals in 131 games for Bayern, meaning he is 24 goals away from the CR7 record in his next 18 appearances.
The truth is that Kane’s high level of play this season could make that dream possible, but for that to happen he would need to play the full 90 minutes of each remaining game, averaging a goal every 67.5 minutes, Onefootball reports.
What’s even more surprising is that Harry has already achieved this, averaging a goal every 68.8 minutes, so he’ll have to pick up the pace even more if he wants to break this record. However, if he wants to match this, he needs to score at least one goal every 71.3 minutes.
Even if Kane fails to reach this mark, he would become the club’s second fastest player to reach 150 goals. Erling Haaland needed 173 games for Manchester City, Zlatan Ibrahimovic needed 176 for PSG and Robert Lewandowski needed 193 for Bayern.
Meanwhile, Bayern lead the Bundesliga with 57 points. Kane will aim to continue his scoring streak this Saturday, February 21st, when they host Frankfurt (7th place with 31 points) at the Allianz Arena.
