TThe match between Real Madrid and Benfica in the first phase of the UEFA Champions League play-offs gave us a lot to think about. However, Kylian Mbappe has made it clear what the priority is for European football authorities, banning Gianluca Prestianni from the continental competition.

The first leg with a place in the Round of 16 of the Champions League at stake was a defensive stalemate at the Estidio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal, with Madrid winning by a narrow 1-0 margin.

The match was very heated, with Real Madrid looking to end the group stage in doubt and Benfica looking to assert home ground advantage.

The match was decided by Vinicius Junior’s goal in the 50th minute, and chaos ensued from there. Mr Prestiani is said to have directed racist insults at Mr Vinicius, provoking angry reactions from various quarters.

In his post-match statement in Lisbon, Mbapp harshly criticized the young Argentine forward. “Prestiani should never play in the Champions League again,” declared the French striker.

We must set an example for all children who look up to us. There are some things that I cannot accept,

However, he made it very clear that he has nothing against Benfica.

He described the team as one of the best of all time, but added: “This kid, Prestiani, doesn’t deserve to play in the Champions League anymore.”

He asserted that the Real Madrid dressing room supports Vinicius. “Whatever he wants to do, we will do it as a team. We will never leave Vinny alone. We have supported our players. How would you feel if something like that happened to you?”

Mbappu told the press conference what happened on the pitch.

After Vini’s goal and Benfica’s 25th celebration, he started using words that are unacceptable, and I won’t say his name because he doesn’t deserve to be named.

The Real Madrid striker was furious and explained: “He called Vinny a monkey five times. Five times! You have the best camera. Analyze his face. He covered his face so we can’t read his lips. His face doesn’t lie.”

In the end, he said bitterly, “This man is not my colleague. This is not the kind of person I am.”
