TFor fans who were excited to see Lionel Messi in Puerto Rico, the worst-case scenario has been confirmed. The Argentine superstar is injured and will not be able to play, at least not on the originally scheduled date.
Inter Miami officially confirmed the news, and Messi himself also took the time to send a personal message to his followers, raising him to another level of professionalism.
Message from Messi to fans
“Hello everyone. I wanted to send this message to the people of Puerto Rico, both those who go to practice and those who go to games. To be honest, the last game in Ecuador ended with some discomfort, but that is why I also left early, and together with the organization and the club we decided to suspend this game. So I hope we can reschedule and see each other and visit you guys soon. Sending you all a big hug for the love you’ve shown me, I know all tickets are sold out, so I hope to see you later,” he said on his Instagram Story.
The number 10’s gesture also sparked debate on social media, with many pointing out Messi’s actions – as Cristiano Ronaldo did not dare to break his silence after missing up to three games.
Cristiano Ronaldo refused to take part in what appears to be a strike of sorts, as the Portuguese star is reportedly unhappy with Al Nasr’s investment in reinforcements.
Fans believe that Messi at least had the decency to apologize and explain the situation, but Cristiano Ronaldo has not done so despite rumors that he could even leave the club.
So far, he has been limited to posting various updates on his social media accounts.
