AFA speaks at Harvard University and visits Boston Celtics in the US

Leandro Petersen, Commercial and Marketing Director of the Argentine Football Association, led a notable institutional trip to the United States, including a presentation at Harvard Business School and an official visit to one of the NBA’s most iconic franchises, the Boston Celtics.

At Harvard Business School, Mr. Petersen spoke to students and scholars about AFA’s transformation and global expansion process, noting the organization’s evolution and professionalization in recent years. The presentation focused on strategy, leadership and business models as applied to the sports industry, emphasizing the transition from traditional structures to an internationally expanding corporate vision.

The presentation analyzed the main pillars of organizational growth. Expansion into strategic markets such as the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. Commercial diversification and creation of new sources of income. Strengthening global brand positioning. Strengthening partnerships with multinational companies. Similarly, beyond sporting results, the importance of institutionalizing management processes to ensure sustainability and long-term predictability was highlighted.

AFA visits Boston Celtics

As part of his Boston agenda, Petersen paid an institutional visit to the Boston Celtics, meeting with the organization’s executives and exchanging experiences on management, innovation, sports marketing and global audience development.

The conference enabled the sharing of best practices regarding the professionalization of sports structures and the international expansion of brands.
