TThe match between Barcelona and Real Mallorca was not just a match in the history of the club, Lamine Yamal, or football.
Bala secured the victory with a 3-0 win at the Spotify Camp Nou, but it was the goal scored by the club’s young talent that stole the show, creating history and surpassing even Kylian Mbapp.
Yamal continues to break records
Robert Lewandowski (29th minute) and Marc Bernal (83rd minute) were the other two scorers to give the Catalan club victory, but Lamine’s goal in the 61st minute made him the most prolific goal scorer in Europe’s top five leagues by the age of 19, with a total of 24 goals.
In doing so, he surpassed Mbapp’s 23 goals scored with AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain, and unlike the French star, all of Yamal’s goals came while wearing the same shirt.
As if that wasn’t enough, Lamine has scored in five consecutive games for Barra, having previously scored against Mallorca, Albacete Valompi, Elche CF, FC Copenhagen and Real Oviedo.
The young player thus confirmed himself as a key part of Rose’s attacking line-up, writing his own story, despite being compared to club legends like Lionel Messi.
The 18-year-old has already won La Liga twice, the Spanish Super Cup twice and the Copa del Rey once with Rose, in addition to several individual titles such as the Copa Trophy and the Golden Boy.
This season, he played in a total of 30 games and recorded 15 goals and 13 assists.
Meanwhile, Lamine and Barcelona are preparing to face Atltico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium on Thursday, February 12th. In the second leg, the reigning champions will meet their rivals on March 3rd at the Spotify Camp Nou.
