FC Barcelona is effectively saving Marcus Rashford’s career and turning him into one of La Liga’s most productive footballers. His confidence is back, his numbers are up and he and his Barcelona teammates are even smiling again.
Marcus Rashford returns to the spotlight at Barcelona
The England international took his tally to 20 goals this season with an assist in the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Albacete. Rashford now has 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, becoming only the third player in La Liga to reach double figures in both categories.
Remarkably, all three players who achieved this milestone belong to FC Barcelona. The remaining two are Lamine Yamal, who contributed 26 goals, and Fermun Lupez, who contributed 21 goals, forming the exclusive Blaugrana trio that dominates Spanish football.
Barcelona have found an important addition in the English forward under manager Hansi Flick. Rashford reportedly wants to remain at Barcelona beyond this season and avoid a return to Manchester United in the summer. His goal is to decide his future ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Barcelona currently have an option to buy Rashford on loan.
The ideal scenario for both sides would be a permanent transfer. This will allow Barcelona to make the most of a loan move that initially raised eyebrows, but it has turned out to be an impactful signing that will see him perform at an elite level.
