TThe U.S. Women’s National Team has won six straight games, has shown an exceptional level of play, and is in the midst of a great period. But it wasn’t the result or performance on the field that caught the attention of the final game, but rather the bizarre celebration that included coach Emma Hayes.
In a game played at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California, the United States defeated Chile by five goals and no conceded. The match was perfect for the home team, but all eyes were on Trinity Rodman, who scored a goal and performed a bizarre celebration.

When Rodman scored again and it was time to celebrate, she decided to fulfill the promise she had made to Hayes before the game.
Rodman went looking for Hayes to celebrate with a much-talked-about dance called the “Sexy Dixie.” The scene went viral on social media, and although the coach was a little uncomfortable, his attitude was so strong that there was a lot of laughter on the bench.
“I thought, ‘Guess what? The game is quiet. There’s no way Trinh will score tonight. The area is full of players.’ And the moment she cut inside…if you were looking at me, if you were focused on me right before that, I was in over my head. I was dying. I was dying,” the coach commented with a laugh.
USWNT continues to make steady progress

Emma Hayes has high praise for the young team, some of whom scored their first goal against Chile. There was also constant laughter in the dressing room, and the atmosphere was getting better and better.
“These guys keep me young, I have no complaints,” Hayes said of the atmosphere and dancing.
