Paris Saint-Germain have announced that they have signed Spanish midfielder Doro Ferndes to a long-term contract that will keep him in the French capital until 2030, as the club continues to invest in young talent.
Luis Enrique’s shocking first message to PSG’s rising star Doro
The 18-year-old will wear the number 27 shirt as he begins the next phase of his development in Ligue 1. Born Pedro Ferndes Sarmiento on January 12, 2008 in Nigrun, Spain, Ferndes started playing soccer for local club ED Val Mior Nigrun at just four years old.
His early promise saw him move to FC Barcelona in 2022, where he spent three seasons rising through the ranks of the club’s youth, establishing himself as a technically gifted and versatile midfielder known for his vision and ability to maneuver between the lines.
Doro played an important role in the youth FC Barcelona
Fernandes’ breakthrough came in the 2024-25 season, when he was promoted to Barcelona’s Under-19 team while still only 16 years old. He played a key role in the club’s UEFA Youth League title win, making seven appearances and scoring two goals, including a goal in the 4-2 win over BSC Young Boys.
That same season, he also helped Barcelona win the Divicin de Honor Juvenil and the Copa del Rey Juvenil. His rapid development continued during Barcelona’s summer tour to Japan and South Korea, where Ferndes performed well in senior competitions and scored his first goal for the first team in a friendly match against Vissel Kobe on 27 July 2025.
He then made his professional debut in a 2-1 La Liga win against Real Sociedad in September, making five appearances in all competitions for the club. In addition to his four league appearances, he also played once in the UEFA Champions League, scoring his first professional assist in a 6–1 win against Olympiakos on 21 October 2025.
Build a team around emerging talent
On the international stage, Ferndes is a regular member of Spain’s youth national team. He scored four goals in nine games for the Under-17s and had a standout moment in the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualification when he scored the winning goal against Norway.
Since moving up to the Under-18s, he has won three caps and made a total of 24 youth international appearances across Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 levels. With his move to PSG now complete, Fernandes joins a club aimed at nurturing emerging talent, and his arrival adds a promising new element to Paris Saint-Germain’s long-term sporting project.
