Messi returns to Inter Miami for preseason
Messi will make another competitive appearance this Saturday, January 24th, when Inter Miami visit Alianza Lima, the capital of Peru. The match will be held at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium, but due to the Argentine’s presence, all tickets for the duel have been sold out.
Messi, along with De Paul and Luis Suarez, will begin a pre-season tour that includes a visit to Peru, followed by matches in Colombia and Ecuador. They will be hoping to improve their form and get a good result in this friendly, aiming to not only qualify for the Club World Cup as Concacaf Champions Cup winners, but also repeat the feat of becoming MLS champions.
The team will be joined next season by Mexico’s Argentine-German Belterrame on a contract worth $15 million. Over the past week, German Bertelame’s name has been mentioned as a possible addition to Inter Miami, and although these rumors were initially denied, it was made official after Domenech Torrent, current manager of Liga MX side Rayados de Monterrey, hinted at his interest.
