BArcelona midfielder Pedri was substituted in the second half of Barcelona’s 4-2 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Spain international appeared to have injured a muscle in his right leg and was replaced by Dani Olmo in the 61st minute.
Pedri collapsed near midfield during the host team’s breakthrough. He left the field voluntarily after being examined by Barcelona doctors.
The midfielder assisted Fermun Lupez’s goal in the first half.
Barcelona played without star forward Lamine Yamal due to suspension due to a yellow card.
Premier League teams make progress
Premier League teams are making strides in the Champions League, with five of England’s top-flight clubs in a position to qualify for the round of 16.
Arsenal lead the table and have already booked their place in the next round, but Wednesday’s wins against Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea moved them into the top eight for automatic qualification with one league game remaining. Tottenham are fifth, with Manchester City heading into next week’s game as the only English team remaining in the play-offs.
Second place Bayern Munich won 2-0 against Union Saint Giroise thanks to Harry Kane’s two goals, advancing to the round of 16 along with Arsenal.
Despite their 4-2 win against Slavia Prague, Barcelona remain ninth in the table and risk having to go through the play-offs to advance.
However, with only three points separating Real Madrid in third place and Juventus in fifteenth place in the final round of the league, there is much work to be done.
Liverpool won 3-0 against Marseille and are now in 4th place. Newcastle beat PSV Eindhoven with a tie, and Chelsea beat Paphos 1-0.
The Spanish team drew 1-1 with Galatasaray, and Marcos Llorente’s own goal prevented Atletico Madrid from winning. Giuliano Simeone scored early for Atlético, and Llorente’s own goal netted him in the 20th minute.
