Brooklyn Beckham’s long-simmering feud with his parents David and Victoria Beckham has reached breaking point, with sources saying a “massive breakdown in trust” occurred last week that widened the rift beyond repair.
A source told Page Six that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, believe they have made every personal effort to repair their relationship, including conversations and meetings with David and Victoria, but that they have ultimately concluded that they no longer trust them.
From the couple’s perspective, growing frustration over false reporting in the media pushed the situation to a point of no return.
A source described the dispute as “a huge power struggle between two powerful families,” adding that Brooklyn and Peltz no longer want to be involved and are focused on moving forward with their lives.
Days after allegedly reaching a breaking point, Brooklyn, 26, issued a lengthy statement on social media, publicly speaking about the feud and saying she no longer wants to reconcile with her family.
Brooklyn accused her parents of trying to control her life.
In her post, Brooklyn accused her parents of controlling media coverage throughout her life, claiming that they prioritized their public image over an authentic relationship.
Victoria Beckham claimed her parents tried to interfere in her marriage, including pulling out of designing Nicola Peltz’s wedding dress just before the wedding, and claiming that they pressured Beckham to relinquish the rights to her name before the wedding.
He also revisited past allegations that Victoria interrupted the couple’s first dance at their 2022 wedding, calling it a humiliating incident.
Ms Brooklyn said the couple renewed their vows in August 2025 to recapture the positive memories of their wedding day, and claimed that being away from her family had relieved her long-standing fears. He denied claims that his wife controlled him, instead stating that he had felt controlled by his parents for most of his life.
The Beckhams currently only communicate through their lawyers.
Representatives for David and Victoria Beckham did not respond to requests for comment.
Rumors of tension within the Beckham family have been circulating ever since Brooklyn and Peltz married in 2022, and the rumors were reinforced late last year when Brooklyn reportedly blocked several members of the Beckham family on social media.
David and Victoria have since reportedly told their parents that their relationship should be resolved through a lawyer, but sources close to David and Victoria say they remain hopeful of a reconciliation.
