Al Nasr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, are in a difficult situation after suffering three consecutive defeats, including a 3-1 loss to Al Hilal, who currently lead the Saudi league with 38 points, on January 12.
This prompted the club’s fans to express their anger and frustration at the 41-year-old captain on social media, with some calling for the Portuguese striker to be sold.

Al Nasr fans target CR7
The truth is, before the loss to Al Hilal, Cristiano and his teammates had started the year and month with a 3-2 loss to Al Ahly and a 2-1 loss to Al Qadisiya on January 2 and 8, respectively.
Fortunately, despite their three losses, Al Nasr are in second place with 31 points, while Al Tawon and Al Ahli Saudi are close behind with the same points.
The situation has become unbearable for fans and has led to increased criticism of the Portuguese player. On X (formerly Twitter), a fan of the club frankly said, “Sell Cristiano Ronaldo,” user @Al_Nassrt began, adding: “CR7 costs 200 million every season, but it’s all for nothing. No official trophies, empty stadiums, unfulfilled promises. Imagine if we could build a team without that fossil. Get him out of my Al Nassr.”
Reactions from fans were mixed. Some of them agreed with this statement and replied: “No club wants him.” “Sell Cristiano Ronaldo? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha’s’ to whom? His value today is zero,” another commented. “It’s true. He has to go,” a third follower agreed.
However, some defended Cristiano, claiming that his arrival had increased the team’s profile.
One user replied: “It’s rude to call the man who put our league on the map a ‘fossil’. Without him, no one would even pay attention to the Arab League.” “CR7 is bigger than your pathetic club…no one knew your club before CR7,” another wrote. “It costs him 200 million but he will get back 400 million in TV rights, publicity, ratings, sponsors, etc.,” one fan emphasized.
The truth is that even though CR7 scored against Al Hilal and extended his scoring streak to 959, he was replaced in the 83rd minute by Wesley Gasovano and could have done more to stop them.
Meanwhile, Cristiano has a contract with the club until 2027 and is set to return to action on Saturday, January 17, when Al Nasr take on Al Shabab at the AL-AWWAL PARK Stadium in Raid.
