Rafinha scored twice for Saudi Arabia as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2 in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday.
Rafinha’s winning goal in the 73rd minute came by chance as he slipped while shooting and his shot hit Madrid defender Lal Asensio, fooling goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The game ended in a hectic first half with three goals scored in stoppage time before the break. Two of those goals were against Real Madrid and one against Barcelona, who also defeated Madrid in the 2025 Spanish Super Cup final.
De Jong was sent off.
Kylian Mbapp, who had missed the Mini Super Cup semi-final due to a knee problem, came on in the 76th minute but could not do enough to help Madrid equalize.
Robert Lewandowski also scored for Barcelona. Madrid’s goals were scored by Vincius Junior and Gonzalo Garza.
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong was sent off in stoppage time in the second half.
