RFormer Barcelona midfielder and MLS Los Angeles Galaxy player Iqui Puig will undergo another surgery on a cruciate ligament injury sustained in December 2024 and will be sidelined until the 2027 US League season, the Los Angeles team reported on Saturday.Puig underwent successful anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery on his left knee, just over a year after undergoing the same procedure.

“Puig is expected to make a full recovery and be ready to join the roster to begin the 2027 season,” the Galaxy said in a statement.
Riqui Puig was injured in December 2024 during a non-contact play during a game between the Galaxy and the Sounders. Despite the accident, the Spaniard continued to play for 30 minutes despite a torn cruciate ligament.
