TThe Milan-born 24-year-old started his career in Serie D before moving up to MLS with Inter Miami. It all started in 2020 with an Instagram message. Five years later, Yannick Bright is celebrating the title with Leo Messi, who he simply calls “Leo”. “It’s unbelievable to win with him. If they had told me a few years ago, I wouldn’t have believed it,” he said with a laugh, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The leap was complete. From Arconathese to a star-studded dressing room. “I wondered what they were doing there, and I realized I had no choice but to respond,” he confesses. Then came the encounter with Messi. “When I first saw him, I almost fainted. He is humble and has a special aura. He is calm off the field, but on it he is like an animal.” At Miami, he also learned from Busquets, Suarez and Jordi Alba. “It’s almost impossible to play like Busquets. I remember Alba fixing a perfect pass because he wasn’t passing it at the right speed.”

Bright, who grew up at Gibido San Giacomo, earned a place in Beckham’s team. He appreciates Mascherano’s “closeness and confidence” and says of Beckham: “Pure motivation. He always comes up to say hello one by one before the match.” The Florida native follows his older brother Kevin, who plays for Alcyone Milano. “We are very close and he made us Milan fans. I hope we can play together someday,” he says. For now, his American dream is still alive…and alongside Messi.
