Cristiano Ronaldo may be closer than ever to making the leap from global soccer icon to Hollywood action star. More recently, an AI-generated scene imagining him in the world of Fast and Furious has added to the excitement.

Vin Diesel has confirmed that a role has been written specifically for Ronaldo in the upcoming finale of the blockbuster series, and fans are already picturing the 40-year-old superstar as a natural fit for the high-speed, high-stakes world that has defined the series for more than two decades.

Diesel revealed the news on Instagram after being photographed alongside forward Al Nasr, writing that Ronaldo is “real” and admitting that the Fast and Furious team created Ronaldo’s role. The post quickly went viral, sparking speculation about how Ronaldo would be included in the anticipated Fast & Furious 11. The film is reportedly titled Fast Forever and is expected to be released in 2026 following production delays.

CR7 looks like a big movie star

As anticipation builds, AI-generated images and clips circulating online depict Ronaldo as action-ready, seamlessly positioned for dramatic chase scenes and ensemble moments alongside Diesel’s Dominic Toretto. Although unofficial, this visual highlights why the idea resonated so strongly.

Ronaldo’s physical presence, global appeal and carefully cultivated brand make him a believable addition to a franchise built on spectacle and star power. The timing also coincides with Ronaldo’s broader plans beyond football. As he nears the final chapter of his playing career, he is laying the foundations for his future after football.

In April 2025, he launched his own film studio, UR*MARV, with British director Matthew Vaughn, demonstrating a clear interest in expanding his influence in the entertainment sector, particularly in the United States. Being cast in one of Hollywood’s most successful series would be a huge step in that direction.

A franchise full of stars

The Fast and Furious series has a long history of bringing in stars from outside the traditional acting world. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson became a mainstay after making the transition from professional wrestling, and John Cena followed a similar path. Musicians and rappers also play important roles throughout the series, lending to the series’ reputation for blending pop culture heavyweights with blockbuster action.

The financial turnaround is clear. Fast & Furious 7 remains the most successful film in the series, grossing more than $1.5 billion worldwide, and the final film is expected to be a huge global event. Add in Ronaldo, one of the world’s most famous athletes, and the range will expand even further.

It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo will ultimately appear on screen, but Diesel’s affirmation and growing buzz suggest the idea is more than just a novelty. For now, fans can continue to imagine CR7 trading the pavement for the pitch, and AI visuals offer a glimpse of how seamlessly he could fit into the Fast and Furious mythos if the collaboration becomes a reality in 2026.
