AC Milan have officially announced that Santiago Jimenez has undergone surgery in Amsterdam as part of treatment to resolve a physical problem he was having with his right ankle.
The surgery consisted of an arthroscopy to cleanse the affected joint and was successfully carried out under the supervision of Professor Gino Kerkhofs in collaboration with the Italian club’s medical staff.

According to a statement released by the Rossoneri, the Mexican striker will remain in the Netherlands for about a week, where he will complete the first stage of the post-operative process.
Once this initial phase is complete, he will return to Italy to continue his rehabilitation at Milan’s facilities under the direct supervision of the club’s medical staff.

Regarding the recovery period, AC Milan have made it clear that Jimenez will be out of action for at least two months, but that his return will depend on his progress at each stage of treatment.
