Luis Suarez’s immediate future remained up in the air after Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets announced their retirement. His contract is due to expire in two weeks (31 December 2026) and his name was also rumored to return to Uruguay. Luis Suarez, who is just over a month away from his 39th birthday, started 47 of the 50 games he played for Inter Miami this season, scoring 17 goals and providing 17 assists. Only Leo Messi produced more goals for Inter Miami over the course of last season, with 43 goals and 26 assists.
There has been speculation in recent days that Timo Werner would arrive at Chase Stadium. However, renewing Luis Suarez’s contract for another season would close the door for the German striker, who remains strongly linked with a move to MLS. From Germany, it is suggested that it is the San Jose Earthquakes who are currently leading the race.
