The Chelsea goalkeeper kept a clean sheet and when speaking to reporters in the mixed zone was asked about the individual games between Cucurella and Yamal. His reply was short and shocking.
“Cucurella has him in his pocket.”
He then took a second shot that could haunt many in his career, commenting on Premier League level:
“Everyone looks really good until they get to the Premier League.”
It is worth remembering that this was Lamine Yamal’s first match with an English club, and it did not go well at all.
Finally, when asked whether Barcelona should be considered favorites to win the Champions League, Sanchez replied with a big smile:
“Favorites? Barcelona? No, we are the favorites.”
Chelsea are currently in 5th place in the competition (remaining games pending) while FC Barcelona are languishing in 15th place and look to be in a very bad position for this year’s Champions League.
