Thibaut Courtois is one of Real Madrid’s leading figures and a player who speaks clearly and openly whenever necessary. The goalkeeper recently gave an interview to Cadena COPE and touched on several topics related to his club on the occasion of the famous match that was supposed to take place in the United States against Lamine Yamal.

What Courtois said about the match against Miami
The Belgium international agreed that La Liga should try to hold matches in other countries, but said that first all Spanish clubs needed to be on the same page. He also believes the event needs to be elevated to the level of prestige achieved by the NFL and NBA.
“I think the NFL has done it the right way, just like the NBA is doing it. If we want to do it the way we do it, we’re going to have to talk to all the teams and figure out a way to get all the teams to buy in,” he said.
On the other hand, he explained why he has always tried to be transparent about his position and never hide anything, which sometimes worked against him.
“No one has to tell me anything. Throughout my career, I think I have always said what I think, and it often led to a lot of backlash, because people just wait for you to have one bad game or make a mistake, in order for you to be criticized. No one said anything to me. I think what I said was just common sense, and in the end that remains, “the Belgian goalkeeper concluded.
Finally, Thibaut Courtois admitted that he would like to discuss and exchange opinions directly with Javier Tebas, after saying that he has no problem with Lamine Yamal.
“Yes, of course. And I would like to have a direct, direct debate with him (Javier Tebas),” he added.
