BBehind Lamine Yamal’s eagerness to return to the Camp Nou lies a detail that many have forgotten and is resurfacing. The young Barcelona star’s entire career has essentially revolved away from the club’s iconic football cathedral.
Ramin Yamal’s magic play sparks controversy in resurfaced video
Finally, the club has officially announced its return to Spotify Camp Nou. Good news for Lamine Yamal. He is currently recovering from an injury and could be available for the match against Athletic Club.
Barcelona’s star has played just seven minutes at Camp Nou
Strange as it may sound, the truth is that the Blaugrana treasure has played just seven minutes at the Camp Nou (and a further three minutes of stoppage time since his debut on April 29, 2023).
“When I stepped onto the pitch, my ears were ringing and I couldn’t hear anything. It was only a minute, but it felt like an hour to my legs,” he admitted a year later.
Television footage from that day showed him being coached by Barcelona legend and then-coach Xavi Herndez.
Lamine Yamal made his debut at just 15 years and 290 days old, making him the youngest player in LaLiga history to represent Rose, surpassing Vicen Martonez Alama (who made his debut in 1941 at 16 years and 280 days old) and Ansu Fati (16 years and 298 days old in 2019).
His debut on April 29, 2023 could actually have been earlier, but former sporting director Jordi Cruyff later revealed that it had been postponed because the player had not yet signed a professional contract.
Now, before he takes to the pitch again, he has sent a clear message showing how motivated and ready he is to shine: “Monjuc was the beginning. Camp Nou is where history is written,” reads the caption of his current Instagram profile picture.
